1st January 2016 Buenos Aires, Argentina

An Unofficial Round-up: Statistics and Thank Yous

It has only been one day since I have finished my solo and unsupported run from Vancouver to Buenos Aires. During that time I have had very little time to actually sit down and reflect on everything that has happened and what I have achieved but I am sure I will get a chance soon. 2016 is now upon us and it is time to start thing ahead and to come up with ideas and goals for the new year but before I do all that I want to take a quick moment to look backwards, sum up some stats and say a few quick thank yous.

Numbers can be a pain in the behind. Before I set off I had to come up with a route and plan. I knew then that none of what I was writing was going to pan out but I have to admit I am completely stunned at just how different it really is. If everything had gone as I had envisaged then I would still be running and would be until the 7th of May 2016! But things change and  in this case I ran a lot quicker and the route ended up being a little more direct. So here are the Unofficial Offical Stats:

Total Distance Covered: 16,538km. This is based on running in a straight line… if you consider detours, back tracking etc I would say it is more like 17,000.

Calories burnt a day – 4500 – 6000 (estimated)

Total time on expedition: 472 days – this does not include the month I returned for my sister wedding
